Privacy
PentaPost has no reader accounts and asks for no personal details.
What is stored, and where
- Your edition. When you choose a place with "Change location", your choice is kept in your own browser (local storage) so the next visit opens the same edition. It is not sent to PentaPost to be stored. You can clear it by choosing "Use my approximate location" or by clearing your browser's site data.
- Approximate location. If you have not chosen a place, the page asks the server for an approximate location (city, region and country) derived from your connection, only to pick an edition. PentaPost does not store it.
- Weather. The weather card is fetched by PentaPost for a place (for example, the Piedmont Triad), not for you. Your browser never contacts a weather service.
- Server logs. Like any web server, PentaPost's server keeps short-lived technical logs of requests (address, page, time) to keep the site running and secure.
What is not used
PentaPost uses no advertising, no analytics service and no third-party trackers. The page loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which receives the usual technical request details when your browser fetches them. Links to original reports take you to the publisher's own site, under that publisher's terms.
